•  Bridgeton Suites is my tribute to our two favorite hotels, Staybridge Suites and the Drury Inn.

•  Marian Howland takes her name from Albert Payson Terhune's mother, Marion Harland (pen name of Mary Virginia Terhune), who was a writer of novels and nonfiction, and was a best-selling author in her day.

•  Thanks to Hearts of Darkness by Jana Monroe for hints into modern FBI culture. Special Agent by Candice DeLong was helpful, too.

•  " Why, do tell, Mr. Cavanaugh..." - a tip of the hat to Shirley Bellinger of Oz (played by Kathryn Erbe).

•  "..when Dr. Borman pulled his striptease act..." - from "Zoonotic," Season 2.

•  "...V-8 engines and living on a horse farm..." - "Zoonotic" and "Ill-Bred," Season 3.

•  This story was inspired partially by our Libertycon sojourn in 2023. I walked into the Chattanooga Conference Center, looked around, and enthused, "What a great place this would be for a Law & Order foot chase!"
